Queenlatifah Join the excitement and feel the power as Curvation and Queen Latifah launch the 2006 PROJECT CONFIDENCESM Awards

Join the excitement and feel the power as Curvation and Queen Latifah launch the 2006 PROJECT CONFIDENCESM Awards during the Sugar Water Festival – a national tour featuring Queen Latifah, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu. The call for nominees and the tour, kicks off today, with the official announcement being made at the Sugar Water Festival’s first stop in Dallas, TX.
What better time and place for Queen Latifah to announce Curvation’s 2006 Project ConfidenceSM Awards! And what better time for each of you to start celebrating confidence and start thinking of the confident women in your own lives to nominate!
The Project ConfidenceSM Awards are a nationwide search to recognize women who personify and project the power of confidence through contributions to their local communities – via education, fund-raising, self-empowerment and volunteer work – to help other women to gain confidence and self esteem. This is the second year the awards are being held. “I was extremely inspired by the entries we received last year of amazing women who were – and still are – making a difference in other women’s lives everyday,” says the Queen.
From all the entries received, five finalists will be chosen and flown to New York City early next year for an Awards Ceremony, where they will meet Queen Latifah, in person, as well as the panel of experts who joined her in selecting them. For last year’s finalists and Project ConfidenceSM Award recipient, Yvonne Pointer, it was a moving and unforgettable experience.
The Sugar Water Festival kicks off this Thursday, August 3, in Grand Prairie, Texas, and wraps on Sunday August 13 in Columbia, Maryland. In between, Queen Latifah and her Sugar Water soul sisters will bring their smooth sounds and positive messages of empowerment to New York City, Atlanta and Washington, DC.
And attending any of the Sugar Water Festival concerts will surely be just as unforgettable — last summer, Queen Latifah made a long excursion into the audience, touching fans with her warmth and smiles. This year, you’ll also have a chance to win a free Curvation bra—while supplies last! But if you can’t make it, stay tuned to Curvation NationSM for up-to-the-minute coverage, reviews, quotes and exclusive photos.
