Tell us about the photographer and shot that appears on PLUS…
Roberto Ligresti is an amazing photographer who works extremely hard to get the best pictures possible. The photo was actually the last shot taken of the day. We didn’t stop working until we had the best shot, and it was worth it!
How did you feel when you found out that you were chosen as the PLUS Model of the Month Contest Winner?
I was so honored! I check VenusDivas.com daily and I am honored to be a part of the new Plus Model Magazine!
When did you decide you wanted to be a plus model?
Actually, in college I majored in Business Management and Marketing because I wanted a career in business entertainment. I decided to sign up for some modeling classes, because I wanted to see all aspects of the business. I started to get a really good response from photographers and agents, so I moved to New York to pursue plus modeling!
Do you have any plus size role models?
Valerie Lefkowitz, she is beautiful!
What are your goals as a plus model?
I want to re-define the term "plus model" for society. When I tell people I am a plus size model, their response is usually, "you’re not fat," or they seem apologetic like "oh honey, you’re still beautiful." But plus size models aren’t fat, and yes, we are still beautiful. I go to the gym three times a week and eat very healthy, because I love my body how it is. A plus model size model is a woman who is healthy both physically and mentally.
What are your hobbies?
Before college I was a competitive gymnast for fourteen years. In college I danced on the SC Dancer Team and now I love to stay active with jogging and going to my gym. I enjoy singing, acting and anything that has to do with fashion!
