I remember countless summers on Long Island on the family fishing boat or on the beach, and every summer I was scalded by suburns. Blame it on diving off of the boat and making believe that I was a mermaid with my kid sister, and not remembering to reapply that sunscreen that I now, as an adult, meticulously apply. Especially now that I live in Los Angeles, it has become a part of my daily routine.
