The always outspoken and most fined radio personality, Howard Stern, has insulted Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe. Not only was his remark racist but it also showed his distaste for anyone that does not have any silicone in their body. Over the years Stern has insulted numerous groups of people including women in general by having them come to the show and perform stupid acts for ratings. Not much can be said about the women who allowed themselves to be humiliated but the worst part for me is that one of his side kicks is a black woman who is NOT a size zero!
Where is her voice? What was her reaction to his remark? Have we become so romanced by the mighty dollar that we are willing to sell our pride and souls?
The remark?
“There’s the most enormous, fat black chick I’ve ever seen. She is enormous. Everyone’s pretending she’s a part of show business and she’s never going to be in another movie”

I agree 100% with what you said. Howard stern is ugly inside and out he thinks he is funnuy or a big man by making fun of people who are different. I think gabourey is a beatiful talent woman, and I am glad she is out there. I don’t understand why is not anybody saying anything about being to skinny. Being underweight is just a unhealthy as being overweight. Yet everyday we tell super skinny models that they are beatiful. I think that society as a whole is afraid people will see that people can be beeatiful in all shape and sizes, and that fear means, they won’t spending all their hard earn money on gyms, diets and health club memberships.
The correct response to this is:
Who’s Howard Stern?
Of course his response was ignorant! He knew it was ignorant and provocative and THAT’S why he said it because he doesn’t have enough wits about himself to say anything intelligent, so he’s found his niche in the “Ignorance/Sex Sells” market. I get it. Is it right? HECK NAW!!! But we can protest all we want and the man is still going to have a job tomorrow. It’s the politics of the business. Look at the Don Imus scenario. The best revenge for Gabi is to kick butt in these next two projects and eventually end up making so much money that she can afford to buy his show if she wanted! LOL!
Not that I think his comment on Gaby is positive, but whatever. He’s Howard Stern. He can say what he wants.
Also, judging by the fact that his co-host, Robin Quivers, is Black (and has been working with him for over 20 years), it’s hard for me to believe that he is actually racist (or racially discriminate, for lack of a better term). They are basically best friends, and you can tell by how well they get along with each other on the air.
It wasn’t necessary for him to point out that she was Black (because that’s besides the point, anyway), and I don’t think he meant anything negative by her race because she was Black. As far as her weight, that’s something entirely different. He definitely needs to lose weight. It’s not a good image, and it’s very unhealthy.
If anything, he’s focusing on her not getting another role because she is overweight and because she’s not as experienced as people like Meryl Streep. That’s the part I don’t agree with, because if she can act, her size isn’t of any consequence. I don’t think he really cares that she’s Black, and his comment probably wasn’t intended to come off as such.
Try to remember that slavemasters spoke ill of blacks in the presence of blacks. Therefore the fact that Stern’s assistant/sidekick is black doesn’t mean that he isn’t racist.
That being said, please note that I detest Stern and his tactics. As a full figured woman, and one who is concerned about that beautiful YOUNG black woman’s health and wellbeing, I highly advocate the loss on her part of a few pounds so that she CAN be around, alive and a functional and VIBRANT part of the entertainment industry.
Let’s be honest here … She can stand to come down a bit, and if we love her as much as we say we do, then we would and should encourage her in that direction.
I don’t understand why Howard stern gets a free pass everytime he makes comments about women who are fat. This man has no class, he did not have to call Gabby “fat black women. He could not even respect her by saying her name. Just becaue she is over weight does not give him the right to disrespct her, I don’t care if a person is 3000 pound, they are a human being and do not deserve to be disrespcted, that goes for robin quivers as well. I don’t understand how she can sit there and take all of that garbage in and stand up for nothing.
Now as for gabby and her weight my advice is that we stay out of her business. I am a full figure black women who needed to lose weight for health reason. I am on a diet that was set up by my doctor and it is working out for me. I am leanning how to eat healthy and loose weight in a healthy way, and I am happy with the results. No I am sure gabby has a doctor, family friends, who all care for her health like we do, so I am sure they are concerned to, about the health risk of being over weight. I am sure she will loose the weight when she gets ready , and for the right reasons. If she loses weight to please Hollywood, or us, she will not keep the weight off. So I think we should all mind are own business, and take care of are own weight .
