ABC says plus size retailer Lane Bryant’s claims that the network refused to air a commercial featuring a model in lingerie are no more than a fabricated publicity stunt.
Following a war of words where the retailer claimed the network was discriminating against full figured women by refusing to air the lingerie commercial, ABC issued a statement saying they did not treat Lane Bryant any differently than another advertiser.
“Their statements are not true,” the statement said. “The ad was accepted. Lane Bryant was treated absolutely no differently than any advertiser for the same product. We were willing to accommodate them, but they chose to seek publicity instead.”
But according to Lane Bryant, the Disney-owned network refused to air the brand’s lingerie ad during its hit show “Dancing with the Stars,” saying it bared too much cleavage, an insider said.
And Lane Bryant thinks the net’s executives are a bunch of prejudiced boobs.

Well…regardless of who is telling the truth, Lane Bryant, and Ashely, are getting huge amounts of air time and press online. It is all I have heard about for two days!! And Ashley looks amazing in every screen capture I have seen…this couldnt have been a better way for her to become more of a superstar. And thats my 2 cents. hahah
I do not see anything wrong with the ad, so I do not understand the banning of it. I think there is more to the story. Overall, it was a nice commercial.
ABC states that commercial had too much “cleavage. Obviously, the board at ABC are either blind or wearing blinders. Do they not realize that all women have some type of cleavage, and how stupid they sound! The commercial was wonderful, it was sexy, risque, and left it to your imagination. It was tastefully done. It put VS to shame.
I think this is so ridiculous and sickin they are so a afraid that we will take the shine of the skinny mini and we will. ABC are so double standard what about Victoria’s seceret.ooooo its ok for Victoria Seceret to walk the runway but females with curves cant. That’s a crok of s–t they worry about cleavage. What Victoria’s seceret model’s dont have cleavage. Who are They trying to convents. What about all the other stuff goes on ABC. Other shows showing females with lingerie walking around showing there 2pieces. That’s not a problem. Its time for real females with curves to walk the runway.
I wish they will give in and have a 6hr. Victoria secret and Lane bryant lingerie runway.
Dont forget ladies
We dont turn heads. We brake neck.
Our curves are dangerous.
The blog says “Lane Bryant Says ABC and Fox Didn’t Want to Air Their
Lingerie Commercial.” Looks like ABC didn’t want to air it during
Dancing with the Stars, and FOX during American Idol. Guess she skimmed
through it too quickly!
